Rothbury Trenches

On the last day of half term Year 4 visited the Rothbury Trenches.  The trenches were dug as men from the 18th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers trained together before going off to the trenches in France in the First World War.
We learned a lot about the conditions the men lived in, how they came to be in Rothbury and how they must have felt before they went off to war.
Thank you to the team from Woodhorn Museum for a fantastic day!
